Joe Keene

Just four days left in November. I was far behind leading up to Thanksgiving weekend, but have pounded out about 12,000 words. A couple more hours today and I'll be on schedule at 45,000. But my brain must be a bit fried, because I just typed the name of a new character, Joe. Needing a last name, I wrote Keene without thinking. Then I said Joe Keene out loud just to see how it sounded. At least I didn't name a character "Ima Foole." Though check with me after 50,000 ... Ima may find a spot in the story after all.

  1. A special note to Diesel -- Hi D. I added my cat friend to the story today. He looks remarkably like you. Handsome and sleek with beautiful eyes. He's quite a busy fellow tending to the store where he lives and works. He's got a good sunny window and lots of human friends. His working name is Panther...again in your honor. I hope you approve. I hear Oom is not feeling too well. Please take good care of her. Talk to you soon. Your friend, Laura

  2. In my defense on the naming front, I will change Joe's name. And I managed not to have my lead say, "Hi, I'm Abbey and you must be Joe Keene."

  3. I like the name Joe. Not as cool as Diesel. But I really like his last name...Keene. That's the town just south of us. Henry?

As to the strong male lead cat Panther...that's a name with a lot to live up to...but you know Laura, if he's like me, he can likely do it. If you need illustrations when your book goes to press, I'll be happy to pose nude for any female artist.
